Tips for Shopping on Amazon

May 10, 2019

Allow me to reintroduce myself: Hi, I’m Chiara the Procrastination Queen. Whenever I have an event to attend, I somehow always wait until the last minute to buy an outfit. Usually I try to plan ahead but then the outfit I envisioned ends up looking like a Walmart customer at 8 a.m.

Here’s the link to the super cute dress I wore instead.

I’m also not into paying $25 for next day shipping which leach leads me to plan B (it’s starting to become my plan A) Amazon Fashion. I don’t know what I would do without PRIME! Buying clothing on Amazon low key gives me a panic attack because you truly never know about these random brands that pop up outta China. I now consider myself an avid Amazon shopper – low key im addicted. Soooo I made a list of tips to help weed out the trash products and make your Amazon shopping experience way less stressful:

  • Check out the Customer Photos
If there is not a customer picture of the product IRL I’m 90% not going to buy the item. I cannot stress this enough, you will save yourself so much trouble if you look at the REAL photos.
  • Know the Brand
Buying clothes on Amazon really depends on the brand so make sure you do your research. Search Instagram and YouTube for specific brand reviews!
  • Check the Trustworthiness
If the product has 2 stars, sis, it isn’t for you! Once again read thru the comments and see why they got 1 star because it might not be something that bothers you. For example: someone left a bad review about a dress I bought because (on them) it fit too big in the bust, but I have DD so for me that was a good thing *adds to cart*
  • Shipping
I automatically filter “prime only” items because usually clothes ship from China and if you aren’t safe you won’t get your clothes for like 30 days. Aint nobody got time for that!
  • Read the Product Description
This might be common sense but please check the sizing chart! Most sizing is not in US, so the clothes aren’t going to fit like the ones in your hometown mall. Even brands that carry similar items will not fit the same. One brand might run really small and one brand might run really big, just do your research.
